myDevices for AI assistants

Any sensor. Any machine. Any site. The myDevices connector lets you ask your AI assistant about everything your myDevices account monitors, in plain English, and get answers from your own data, with dashboards right in the conversation.

It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to connect to business systems, so the same connection works across assistants.

Works with every sensor in your account

If it's connected to myDevices, your assistant can see it: temperature and humidity, energy and power, machine run time, vibration, water leak, door and occupancy, air quality, noise, pressure, panic buttons, gateways and more. That includes LoRaWAN sensors and gateways, PLCs, SCADA systems and meters.

For every device, you can ask about:

  • Latest readings and the last 24 hours
  • Which devices are online, offline or in alert
  • Alert rules and alert history
  • Gateway status, signal strength and battery
  • Where each device sits in your site, building and location hierarchy

For the most common use cases, the assistant also runs deeper analysis over weeks and months: trends, baselines, anomalies, comparisons between sites, and ready-made dashboards. Today that covers energy, machine utilization, OEE, and temperature and humidity, and we add more as customers need them. Measure something we don't model yet? We'll build it.

What teams ask

WhoExample questions
Plant and maintenanceWhat was our OEE last week, and where did the time go? Which machines stop most often? Which machines sit idle the most, and what does it cost?
Energy and sustainabilityWhere are we wasting energy, and what does it cost? What set our peak demand charge last month? How are we tracking against our energy baseline?
Labs, healthcare and food serviceWhich sensors had a temperature excursion in the last 7 days? Which lab equipment sits unused?
Facilities, hotels and multi-siteWhich sensors stopped reporting this week? Which alert rules are noisy? What needs my attention today?
AnyoneBuild me an energy dashboard. Build me an OEE dashboard.

The assistant checks what your account measures and suggests questions it can answer.

Connect your assistant

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Find myDevices in the directory and click Connect. Not listed yet? Click Add custom connector, name it myDevices, paste https://mcp.mydevices.com/mcp, and click Add.
  3. Sign in with your myDevices email and password, and approve access.
  4. Start a new chat and ask: "What can you tell me about my account?"

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner may need to add the connector for your organization first.

Before you start

  • A myDevices account with devices installed, or a free demo account.
  • An AI assistant plan that supports connectors or MCP servers.

How it works

  • You sign in with your myDevices login. The assistant sees only the companies, locations and devices your account can already see, enforced on every request.
  • Read-only. The assistant reads and analyzes your data. It can't change devices, settings, alert rules or anything else in your account, and it can't control equipment.
  • Curated data, not raw telemetry. Before the assistant sees anything, readings are cleaned, mapped to your site, location and asset hierarchy, baselined and checked for anomalies, so its numbers match what you see in myDevices.
  • Times. Results are shown in each site's local time. Relative windows ("last 7 days", "last month") end yesterday, the last full day of data.

Privacy and data handling

Each time the assistant uses the connector, we record your user ID and company, what it looked up and with what settings, whether it worked, how long it took and how much data came back. We strip email addresses, phone numbers, passwords and tokens from these records, and keep them for 90 days. We don't receive or store your chat messages or the assistant's replies.

The assistant you connect is run by its own company, and what you type into it is covered by that company's privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to do
"No data" or an empty answerCheck the date range. Relative windows end yesterday, and your devices need readings in that window.
A site or device is missingThe assistant only sees what your myDevices account can see. Ask your admin to check your access.
No trend analysis for a sensor typeLive readings, status and alerts work for every device. Deeper analysis covers energy, machines, OEE and temperature today; ask us about adding yours.
Sign-in fails or keeps asking againDisconnect and reconnect, then sign in again.
Answers look out of dateStart a new chat. The assistant loads your account fresh at the start of each conversation.
